Was at walmart the other day and was thumbing through a pistol magazine, (the printed kind of magazine), and there was an article that was titled CZ-82 9X19mm and then some stuff about "shooting old military surplus..." and I have been interested in buying a CZ-82 for sometime now, just havent had a hole ton of money lately, but the thing that caught me on this article was the title, "9x19mm" i thought they only came in 9x18mm, is there another version of the 82 that has the 19mm chamber? or was this just a big typo?

Its twin the CZ83 was also chambered in 7.65x17SRmm (.32 ACP) and 9x17mm (.380 ACP).

Typo, but here's something for the learnin. 9x18 mak was designed do be the most powerful round possible out of a small blowback pistol. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a 9x19 chambering would be possible, or at least truly functional (hi-points excluded for obvious reasons).

That was my understanding.

I still want a surplus CZ-82

They just feel sooo damn comfortable in the hand.

I see them as the "Cadillac" of mak caliber pistols. Great feel, comfortable and accurate to shoot.

I got a couple 82's as well as a satin nickel mak caliber 83!

I have a CZ82 and greatly prefer the CZs sights to my Makarovs sights. Plus I prefer the mag release to the european heel release.

+1 to that.

I repainted my sights (the white paint was mostly gone out of the dots in the back and the "slot" at the front" and they're the most intuitive sight's I've ever used. The front sight REALLY stands out now.

Ergos are perfect, IMO.

Love mine for all the above reasons, and the fact that the magazines are higher capacity than any of the other Makarov variants.

9x18 Makarov only, must be a typo.

I've got one.  It's awesome.  I can shoot better groups with it at 25 yards with Silver Bear than I can my 1911 with my reloads (to be fair, my 1911 has those awful GI sights though, and the 82 has pretty good sights, that's probably a lot of it).  I can ding a 16 inch steel plate at 50 yards pretty much every time.

These are great pistols.  I have an 83 in 380 ACP.  There is not much difference between the 82 and 83.  The 82 has a rounded front to the trigger guard where as the 83 has a slightly concave  with traction checkering on the front of the trigger guard.  The 82 was mainly produced in 9x18.  The 83 is produced in 32 ACP, 380 ACP, and was made in 9x18 upon special order.
