I went to Cabela's today and I decided that I should atleast start trying some guns out for my new concealed carry gun.  I read a lot of articles and post on the P01's so I said it looks great on paper so how about in person.  Well it was love at first sight.  The gun felt great in my hand and the controls were very comfortable.  Cabela's had it for $519.99.  Is that a good price?  Any help is appreciated.  I am almost positive that this will be my next CCW gun.

Check Academy, I'm pretty sure they have it cheaper.

I got mine for $500 at over priced Bass Pro.  It's not terrible and I would probally buy it at that price.  Not too many stores keep that model in stock.  Online you could do much better and you have to decide if it's worth your trouble.

It's worth that but you could probably find one cheaper if you look around.

I CCW mine primarily lately, though it's a little wider than what I'm used to (1911).

Some slimmer grips would probably help with that.

The thing is super easy to shoot and has been 100% for me as long as I don't ride my thumb on the slide lock!!

price will depend on area.

i just p/u an OD one at my LGS for low 400.  he wanted the Tactical Sports, but they sent him the P01 in Green.  he also got a black PO1, but that went to another happy customer.

i would check some of the other shops in your area if you have any and see what they have.

I've been waiting for anything bad to come up about these pistols, as it's the number 1 candidate for my first handgun purchase/CCW.  Thankfully I've been disappointed in the lack of news!

I got the silver framed Gander Mountain exclusive P01 for under $350 OTD - apparently they are closeout priced/marked down to move what is remaining.

Get it. P01s are awsome.

I really wish they made one with a manual safety instead of a decocker.

+1. That would make it the perfect pistol.

While I went with the Compact since the safety/sights are the same as my 97B, I highly recommend the PO1.

Get a Kadet kit for cheap practice, see if Dallas Tactical still has factory 25rnd party mags, and you're set.

I really wanted one badly.  I went and shot one after holding one.  I had an incredibly hard time manipulating the slide.  This is an issue I have with the CZ design.  I tend to have sweatty palms and there just isnt enough slide for me to grasp it firmly.

I picked up a P01 three days ago, stepping over to the dark side (I'm an old ,45 SA guy) I have to say I love it. It fits my hand so well it feels as if it were a part of it. I went straight to the range and put 200 through her with no FTFs or FTEs. The pistol is well put together. Wish I would have picked one up sooner!

A buddy of mine just got one of the all green ones yesterday for like $450. We shot it and I actually like it, before that I had never even held one.
