Well I finally found a fix for using smaller non-extended mags ( 10 rnds ) in my slab sided 40Compact. I finally was able to obtain some Pro-Mag 10rounders but they kept FTFing, the nose of the round was dropping and not feeding or feeding directly into the feed ramp and creasing the front of the bullet.
First I took the mags apart to look for problems, the follower has a lot of steps and lines in it( and almost no anti-tilt in the direction needed ) so I sanded them off smooth, this did nothing lol.
Next I tried the stronger springs from a 16rnd XD-9 mag, this clearly helped so I tried a spring from an extended mag I had lying around:

Six mags later I have had 100% feeds, no problems feeding what-so-ever. Only thing is the last round is in there SO tight it makes the mag body bulge enough that you have to slam it in a bit, no biggie. If I leave the last round out it has no need to force it into the gun.
So NOW I have a great concealable pistol that fits my hand like a glove and so-far has been 100% reliable.
