I saw today that EAA/Tanfoglio made in Italy guns are cheaper than CZ.  I know they have been around for many years, but are the EAA guns good stuff?  Do the 9 and .45 CZ mags interchange with the EAA?

I didn't like the sharp edges, but I can easily fix that.  Price was $399 for either the 9mm or .45ACP stainless variant, vs. $529 for the CZ in blue/black steel version.

Too many choices behind the glass, and I could NOT make a fricking decision.  Please help wildearp.  Yes, I considered "get both".  The problem was which "both" to get????

I hope I can set you straight on a few things here, as I've own several cz75 dereivitives including a CZ SP-01 and a couple of Baby Eagles.  I also had a polymer framed EAA Witness.

First, if you look hard you'll be able to find a better deal on a cz than $529.  My SP-01 was $475 and I got it in December and it comes with night sights.  I've seen new CZ-75s at gun shows for under $450, sometimes under $400.

Secondly, the EAA doesn't come in Stainless Steel.  It is a blue steel that has a kind of plating on it that they call "Wonderfinish" and is basiclly a brushed chrome.  CZs have a baked on finish in similar manner to glocks' slides.

EAA has notoriously slow customer service, and I've heard of no probles with CZ USA ( haven't done much research on them though).  The Witness I owned was a compact, polymer framed 45acp model and was very snappy resulting in stovepipes to any shooter not experienced enough with the gun.  I'm sure that an all steel, full sized gun wouldn't have as much of this problem.

All of my '75 derrived guns shoot very accurately.  I can easily keep 'em on the paper at 25 yards with my 9mm Baby Eagle, shooting offhand.  I'd recomend a CZ or  Baby Eagle over the Witness, but the Witness is not without merit.  Good luck in Choosing!

+1

If youre going to pay >500 for a standard CZ, then youre paying too much.  The blued may come close, but i just recentely paied 500+ for my cz and it was the SP-01.  Shipping brought it to the 500 makr.

Ive seen used CZ 75B for 250 and they were in 90+% condition too.

do some shopping first.

I think that if you need to get the EAA, its a good gun.  i have the 45/22 kit and i like it alot.  Im looking for an EAA in 10mm, but they are hard to find now.

The 45 mags will interchange (cz97 & eaa 45) and from what i understand, the 9mm will to, but havent tried it.

I own both.

Witness = Good pistol worth the money

CZ= Better pistol and worth the money

One of my local dealers told me today he quit dealing with EAA simply because of their shitty customer service. Now he sells only CZ & claims he loves dealing with them.

Maybe EAA trained with Colt's customer service?

I have 2 cz's and 2 witnesses. Both tanfoglios are 45acp,one compact in wonder finish and one elite. The elite is the most accurate of the 4.

The cz's are a pcr and an 85.I think the cz'z are a little better on the base guns, but the elites are nicer than the cz's in my opinion.

I've had no problems with either brand. The eaa's do allow to have the safety on with the hammer down or cocked&locked.

The mags will not interchange,I also have the 9mm conversion for the compact, which is another nice feature of the witeness line.

That being said my pcr is with me everyday.
