After thoroughly cleaning all the grease out of my CZ52 I noticed that the barrel had been pitted by rust (both in the lands and on the groves).  How adversely will this affect the accuracy of the pistol?  I'm tempted to buy an unissued barrel, but if the one I have will shoot reasonably well, then I'll just put that money into ammo instead.  Anyone have similar experiences?

On another note, any tricks to getting the barrel out of the slide?

Thanks,
JZ

ETA:  The rifling is still pretty sharp and the muzzle wear is pretty minimal, so it looks like it wasn't fired much.  Rather, it just wasn't cleaned well after the corrosive ammo was shot though it.

Probably it'l shoot well, but if it makes you unhappy you can get a new one from Numrich for under one bill.

To remove the bbl, two methods work.  One involves using the forward end of the magazine floorplate to pull the bbl forward while tightly holding the slide assmbly.   Pull forward & up on the bbl & it'll come free of the slide, be careful as its under a lot of tension and can easily get away from you.   The 2nd method is basically the same but involves using a punch to fit into the round hole on the bbl/roller lock slide & using it to pull the bbl forward/up & out.....takes a little practice but not really that hard.

Fun gun to play with.  You ought to enjoy it.
