Craving another CZ!
My first is a P-07.
Considering another compact.  attracted by the testimonials of the great feel and shooting of the 75 variants.
Looking at P-01 and 75D PCR.

Any advise on which pistol this lefty shooter should buy?

(Yeah, I know: get both...)

I like the p01 personally. People claim the rail gets in the way of CCW but i carry my P01 with zero issues. It's light, shoots great, and although it is the least important part to me it does look great.

I think I'd go with the P-01, you may want to add a light later down the line, you wont be able to do so with the PCR. I think the P-01 looks better too.

I've EDC'D a P-01 in an MTAC since '08.

I've never used the rail or even noticed it when carrying but i do throw my light on it when I get home and it goes on the nightstand.

My P-01 is, with out a doubt, my favorite pistol and I utilize the rail but I'm sure I would "make do" with a PCR if I had to

If you can stand to have a decocker then the PCR.  Rails on a carry gun are stupid and just make it harder to find a decent holster.

If you want condition one carry with a safety, then you have to find one of the almost unobtainium P-01 Omegas.

I've carried my P01 with a TLR-1HL in a Bravo Concealment BCA (OWB) holster for a few years now. I'm waiting on an Alex & Ryan Design AIWB w/Claw, to carry it appendix, without the light. The combo was on the heavyish side for me, and I'm looking for better concealment. After a CCW class using offhand lights, I was sold.

Do you need to put an accessory on it?

Yes? P-01

No? PCR.

Both taste great and are less filling.

Best answer.  The PCR saves you a bit more weight, which is always nice for carry.  Want to add an accessory, P-01.

Can't say I agree with your first statement.  I carry a G19 or a P-07 with a TLR-3 everyday without issue.

I carry in one of these, and it works for both the G19 and the P-07.  http://www.shopleatherworks.com/tac-hybrid-iwb/

I do agree with your second statement though.  If I could find a P-01 Omega, it would be my new carry gun.

I have had all the compacts. I found that unless you use the rail all the time it is useless and makes the guns, especially the aluminum frame guns front heavy and off-balance to me. I ended up with the steel compact which I have been carrying for just over five years. The weight is a non-issue with a polymer or stainless steel reinforced belt. The better the rig the better the weight is distributed. I carry a full-size stainless or my compact in a Winthrop inside waistband holster with reinforced belt. I forget they are there at times. I am thin to medium build about 6 foot 2 inches 180 pounds

They do batches.  Dealers and distributors will get a group, then have to wait for the next production cycle, which can seem like a long wait if CZ is in between runs.

I actually just found one today.
I was thinking how I know my favorite shop had (what I thought was) a 75 compact, but I thought Id go take a look for the hell of it to make sure, and it was a PCR.

I promised my wife I would slow down with the guns a little now that the election is over, so it figures that I find a 'hard to find' gun, that Ive been wanting, just like that.  I learned my lesson when I walked away from a RAMI, so I just decided to put it on layaway since the idea of buying it and hiding it made me feel too guilty haha.

Thanks for all your feedback!
Ended up buying a P-01 off the EE here on arfcom.
There was a PCR, but someone else beat me to it.
Going to take my new P-01 to the range for the first time today!
Can't wait!

You won't be disappointed. I carry my p-01 daily. The only advice I have is to get different grips if you're going to carry it. The rubber ones have good grip but will catch on your shirt.

Thanks for the grip suggestion.  What did you switch to?

A little late to the party, but I'm in total agreement with the comment above.

The CZ 75 Compact is 4-5 oz heavier than a P-01 or PCR, but it's better balanced and is a better shooting pistol.  And like Order66, I have no issues carrying it all day long.  The extra 4-5 oz is a total non issue with a good belt and holster.

The steel frame CZ 75s will also outlast the aluminum frame CZs which like most aluminum frame pistols are limited to about 20,000 rounds before they are worn out.

I'm also not a fan of the de-cocker on a CZ 75, it's basically a stupid idea and one that is just pandering to people who don't really understand SA/DA operation.

Like the CZ 75B, the CZ 75 Compact can be carried in Condition 1, or it can be carrier as a DA pistol with the hammer down.   That makes a lot more sense than having a de-cocker.

In my humble opinion, there is NO handgun in the world that compares to a CZ...... Forget the overpriced Sigs' , Brownings, H&K's etc.etc.....  CZ the finest handgun made in the world......... . I have tried them all and the CZ continues to outperform everything ........    Let me say....you cannot go wrong with the P-01. in fact of all the CZ's I own ( SP-01, CZ-75, CZ-83, P-01) the P-01 is my favorite of all the CZ's I have .........in fact is is the best pistol I ever have had the pleasure of shooting---- you will love it I guarantee it...!!!!!   Now I am debating on a P-07 or P-09 as my next CZ.........but right now I am in need of a red dot sight for my AR now.......then I am going to look into my next CZ.....

Yeah, I found one like right after I said that.
I just walked into my LGS and they had one.  I went to Illinois for Thanksgiving and my favorite shop there had one too.

I wish RAMIs were that easy to find all of a sudden.

A few years back I was looking for the PCR. Could only find one P01.  Last year I found a PCR and sold the P01.  I bit lighter and carries better for me.
Both are awsome guns.
