I am about to buy my first CZ and its coming down to steel vs polymer. I haven't been able to get my hands on a p07 but I fondled a p01 and really liked it..

Get the metal one first. Then go polymer. IMHO

I bought the P-07 Urban and am really liking it.....
No issues so far.

Might mill me a Vortex Venom on the slide... still debating.
Just waiting on my Revo9 suppressor to clear ATF.

I really like my P07, but after shooting a P01, I had to have an SP01.

The polymer is a better carry gun/compact IMO.

Tagged for opinions on the P01. I want one real bad!

I've had both. The DA trigger reach on the P01 was a little farther than I was comfortable with, but the P07 is fine.

The stock grips are wider than the stock P07. Even the large backstrap has less circumference than the P01, and the trigger face is different. Thin grips make a big difference if reach is an issue.

I've owned both as well.

I prefer the P-01 to the P-07.  The P-01 is one of the best feeling handguns I've ever shot.

Odd though, I have several full sized CZs and I prefer the P-09 to any of them, including the SP-01.

I never got to try the thin Al grips, but I did have VZ frags which are a bit thinner than the stock rubber ones.

I have both in UG. For some reason the p01 fits my hands better.  I do like the look of the 07 more though.

ETA mags are much cheaper for the p01 so there's that.

Cant go wrong either way.  My P07 is a phenomenal gun.  I'd happily buy another one, just for reasons.

If the hammer was all the way down on the p01 the reach was to far, half-cock was fine though.

I might see if I can find a p07 somewhere today so I can see how it feels.

If you aren't invested in either the P-series or CZ75 series already mag wise, either is a great gun.

I'm seriously invested in CZ75 mags already so the metal frames make sense for me to continue with.  I am seriously considering a P-07 though.  If Mecgar made P-09/P-07 mags, I'd buy one tomorrow.  Prices on factory mags are too damn high for me to make the leap currently.

My first CZ was a P07 in .40 S&W (no difference for EDC/grip/size/feel vs. the 9MM, just wanted to mention it up front).  It is still, my EDC.

I got an urban gray P01 early in the summer.  I really like the way if feels in my hand.  However it is just not, so far, as accurate as the P07.  Also, it just doesn't seem to carry as well for me either.

When I carry the P07 I find myself rubbing the inside of my arm on it now and then to confirm it's still there.  When I carry the P01 I have no problem knowing it's there as it aggravates the snot out of the inside of my arm.  Once I get it back from CZ USA (front night sight died on it a couple weeks back) I'll carry it some more to see if the "feel" of it becomes less annoying.

Both are good pistols but you may find, like me, that one just does better for you than the other.

I am going through the same thought process right now.  Some local gun stores have the P01 and the P07.  They both feel great, but for me the P01 controls fit me just a bit better.  The slide release is just a little closer and is easier to reach. That is kind of a bummer since the P07 would probably be better for concealed carry, lighter etc.

The grips on the P01 are a bit thick so G-10 grips would be nice.

Nothing wrong with the P-07, but between the two I would go with the P-01, no question.

The P-01 has become my favorite pistol.  The ergos are perfect for me.  It was toss up between the P-01 and P-07 until the local gun shop had both in stock at the same time.  Handling both beside each other it was no question.  The P-01 hands down.
