I thought CZ Custom made a threaded 75 barrel, but I don't see it now. They do offer a 6in barrel, you could have cut and threaded. You would need to check with them to be sure it would work in a Pre-b though. http://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/barrels-complete-upper/cz-75-barrel-9mm-6-00-standard-ext.html

I thought you couldn't thread a Pre-B due to the narrow wall thickness?
I'm pretty sure there's not enough meat there to cut threads, but someone might chime in differently.

I'm pretty sure it will work in a pre-b. I'll swap my b and pre-b barrels and compare later.

Ok so it did not work. There are milled out areas below the chamber and matching areas of less machining inside the slide on a pre-b. The pre-b barrel did fit in a b just fine. The pre-b barrel is also machined higher on the sides around the locking lugs.

The guns in question.

I have a Pre B CZ 85.  Are the barrels/slides different between Pre B 85's and 75"?  I don't know.

I do know that the CZ 75 threaded barrel I bought for my Pre B CZ 85 would not work until I modified the slide.

Pictures of the barrels (original and new, threaded barrel).  Notice the cuts down the bottom sides of the original barrel.  The new barrel does not have the same cuts.

Picture of the Pre B CZ 85 slide.  Notice the neck down area near the front of the slide on the inside rails.  The P01 and CZ 75 Compact, and the CZ 75 SA don't have that neck down.  The inside of the slide is straight, front to back.  I had to remove that neck down area of the Pre B CZ 85 slide to get it to work with my new barrel.

As they say, your mileage my vary, or there may be a difference in the slides during the Pre B years or between the CZ 75 and CZ 85 Pre B models.  I only have the one Pre B.

Picture of my Pre B CZ 85 with the threaded barrel installed.  Hopefully I'll get to the range to shoot it tomorrow.  There's also a thread on the CZ Forum about fitting new barrels to the slide/slide release.

Your 85 appears to be one of the "transitional" models where CZ started phasing some of the features of the B models into the Pre-Bs. Don't know if that really makes a difference in this case though when talking barrels.

Beautiful gun though. I have a beat to hell Israeli Police trade-in pre-B 75 that I'd love to something similar to.

Send it to ADCO and have them do a thread extension to it.
