So I just bought my first CZ, a p07 and I read though the whole manual before even playing with it. I go to try to disassemble the gun and the pin is super tight. I had to get a punch to remove the pin. I lined up the co witness marks on the slide while trying to punch it out. It seems like it needed to be back further then the marks line up. Also getting it back together is also super tight. I have to get the slide stop about halfway in and give it a good firm tap with my palm to get it to go all the way in. Seems to function normally after this. Have not shot it yet. Does it sound right for a new gun and will it get more easy?

Pretty common on a new CZ, it will get a little easier over time.

I unload mine, check it.

Then I move the hammer to half cock.  Push the slide back till it touches the hammer, not pushing/moving the hammer, just touching the hammer while the hammer is on the half cock notch.

Then I use a rear corner of a magazine to push the slide stop out of position.  Once it's up enough to grab from the left side it just pulls out.  You have to keep the slide back against the hammer or it binds up again.

Then the slide just comes right off from the front.  It is a little tight sliding off.  Evidently the clearances are pretty tight.

To put it back together I do the reverse.  If I keep the slide up against the hammer with the hammer at half cock and drop the slide stop in it almost goes into position, but not quite.

Then, while keeping that slide against the hammer, a rap with edge of my hand on the slide stop moves it completely into position.

I'm ready to load it up, wipe it down and put it away (or carry it again).

I'm sold on CZ's.  My P07 shoots rings around my Glock, XDM and M&P pistols.  It impressed me so much I bought a P09 and so far it is as good as the P07.

Good luck with yours.  Oh, so far, my most accurate loads in the .40 S&W P07 are with the lighter bullets.  The 9MM P09 is working out the same way.  The lighter bullets give me smaller groups.

That pin is hard to remove when new, but it does lighten up with age. Also, its very important to have the slide in just the right spot.
I have found for me the easiest way to get the lock out is to use a plastic tool I have for pushing the pins out of my AR-15s. I find them to be tight when new but that doesn't last forever.

As said it is normally tight when new.  I have a PO7 and PO9 and they are both tight like yours.  I use the corner of the mag to press the slide release out.  You are correct that the notch in the slide and frame could be marked a little further apart.

What I do when reassembling is line up the notches, then look through the hole and move the slide back until you see the barrel lug completely out of the hole.  Then the slide stop usually slides right it.  You really have to snap it in the last 1/8th of an inch.  That grove cut in the end of the slide stop shaft has to snap under the retaining wire in the frame.

It is kind of like getting a 1911 back together without making a scratch.  It takes a bit of technique but one you do it a few times you figure out how simple it is.  Good luck  David

It goes without saying because it should be the first step in clearing a gun, but make sure the magazine is released prior to pushing the slide release out.  The magazine follower can add upward pressure to the slide release, causing it to be more difficult to slide out of the frame.  At least that's the way it is on the PCR.
