A local pawn shop called me and said he got in a 9mm TZ-75. I took along a couple extra mags I have for my CZ-75BD and they fit/functioned (with dummy rounds) just fine. I really like the slide release. The pistol is in great shape and comes with it's box. I put $100.00 down on it and will pick it up next week.

The OTD price was $235.00. OK price or not? I don't know much about the FIE imported clones but what I remember of them they reviewed well.

Looks like this one:

Decent enough price, though I've never liked those with the safety up on the slide like that.

For that price, I probably would have bought it too... just because.

They are great shooters. In my opinion, you did great on the price. The TA-90(If I did my research right the only differences between the TA-90 and TZ-75 are 1:Different production run and 2:Excam vs FIE as the importer) I have has well over 20k through the pipe. I need to get a new front sight installed though since my dad had aftermarket sights installed on it when it was brand new and the dang thing flew into my forehead last time I shot it.

My main concern was mag compatability with my CZ-75 BD. If my mags would not have worked I would not have bought it. I figure as my mag fit and I got it at what amounts to a CZ-82 price so why not given it's nice condition. I know Tanfoglio builds a decent quality weapon. Sorta nice haveing a really good looking blue job instead of just paint too.

As for the decocker/safety It's of no concern to me as I never use them anyway. The DA pull is enough safety for me. One less thing to mess with. The funny thing is the DA pull seems better on the clone than the CZ.

I sprung the TZ out of lay-away prison this morning, cleaned it, and took it down to my range for quick session. I ran four mags of mixed fodder ( HPs, mil-surp, and white box) through it with 0 issues. Very accurate. I love the DA pull and slide release. The SA pull could be cleaned-up just a bit but it's on par with my CZ-75 BD. No slop at all. I'd rate it at a honest 95% condition wise, not a mark on it.

I usually don't post serials but I find it odd that it has a AT (1988) date code and a H19881 serial. Perhaps it's just coincidence but I think it's pretty cool.

I put it up on the CZ site's Clone sub-forum. I think it might be one of the transitional TZs, sorta a cross between the TZ-75 B and the 88 series. If so it's purported to be a pretty good weapon.

It's a great price and the slide mounted safety is not much of an impediment on an SA/DA pistol.  It just means you'll want to carry it hammer down and safety off in DA mode as the safety is too hard to reach for Condition 1 carry.

Yep, same as a Makarov or PP/PPK. No issue at all for me.

for sure !!

only a few weeks ago, I picked up a very-little-fired 75B  in .40 S&W in a pawnshop for $400...

and they had an "average" looking TZ75 in 9mm for $699.

Very nice job! The TZ-75, TA-90 Springfield P-9 are all the same gun, Tanfoglios made in Italy brought in under different importers over the years. Good you found CZ magazines that work. You got a very good deal, enjoy your new pistol!
