Does anyone know of a barrel maker that makes threaded barrels for silencers? I just purchased a 9mm can and was looking to order a barrel for my SP-01 Phantom.

Thanks

The short answer is "no", your best bet is to talk to someone like ADCO, or Tornado Tech about getting your barrel a threaded extension. Since CZ-75 barrels need to be fitted, (due to using browning-style lugs vs a giant "ejection port" lug) you don't get a whole lot of enthusiasm from barrel makers. I think EFK might have made one in the past, but...

Thanks, I think I am gonna try getting in contact with CZ Custom. I really don't like the idea of a threaded extension but I guess ultimately if that's what it comes too I can handle it.

I wonder with the new P09 if there will be a threaded barrel option........

Probably. The P-07/P-09 has a single locking "lug" in the ejection port, and so won't (likely) need to be fitted. CZ sells threaded barrels separately for the P-07, P-09 should be the same.

As someone who has fit CZ barrels in the past, I would not suggest replacing the barrel unless you truly have no other choice.   The barrels are not easy to fit.  Ive heard it mentioned here that a post on another forum shows you where the contact points are on the barrel and where you need to file.  Ive seen that thread and Im telling you it leaves alot of information out.   The CZ stuff isnt as hard to fit as a 1911 barrel, but its also not a 30 minute deal either.   Angus at CZ Custom has made plenty of money from people who thought that they were getting an easy-to-fit barrel.

I sent off a Phantom top end to ADCO today for an extension and threading.  The extension can be secured with Rocksett and youll never have to worry about it falling off.  The SP01 barrels have a .550 diameter that allows this.  The regular 75/85 barrels require a shoulder on the extension that in turn requires the extension to be removable.

Besides, you will have a threaded barrel with matching numbers that is perfectly fit to your pistol if you let ADCO thread it.  Its also much cheaper, at 155 bucks plus shipping.

czcustoms had the australian shadow barrels last time i checked.  they are longer.  just needs to be fitted competently and would probably work out pretty well.

I guess it depends on the gun, because I'm pretty much a hack, and fitted a CZ 6" barrel into my 75B slide/SP-01 frame very easily in about 45 minutes or so.  Or maybe I just got really, really lucky.
