It seemed funny to me that everything was ambi except for the mag release. Can I reverse it so I can drop the mag with my thumb?

In a word "No" but there still the heat. I've got one I love. Just pratice with your stronghand trigger finger haven't seen a better method for a lefty on that style mag release yet.
