Is it possible to tune the trigger of a SP-01 to something more like a match trigger? While keeping the DA ability
Is it something I could attempt on my own? And one more question, are the slide cuts for the sights proprietary to CZ? Thanks Rob |

Thanks Rob The decocker SA triggers can be tuned just as well as the SAO now and you can really lighten up the DA trigger in the process. You have a few options..... Send the pistol to CZ custom. Outstanding work but it costs $$$$ once you add in all the costs Purchase parts from Cajun Gun Works (IMO this is the best deal going) Cajun Gun Works Do it yourself. Can be done if you understand all the mechanics of the pistol, have some gunsmith experience etc...... |

ok, I'm a bit confused by the CGW kits, Do I send my parts in and they modify them or do I just buy and install them myself? And which kit would be the best? since my gun is DA/SA but with the manual safety? It is your choice. You can send in your parts to be modified or buy them already modified. IMO, I would buy them so that you would have your stock parts as back up. Call or email for help. They can go over what they offer and give suggestions depending on type of gun and what you want to do with it. |

I did this to 75, buff and fluff, reduced hammer spring. The DA is still long but much smoother. SA is very 1911 ish. Reset is still long. The CZ custom hammer is nice but not as nice as mine in SA. The CZ custom hammer however has a much shorter reset. For a working gun I trust CZ custom over my hand reprofiled hammer, too light hence range gun only. To further shorten reset you could remove the firing pin block. The biggest gripe I have with the stock triggers are the positive camming of the hammer and the grittiness. Then again in a trigger snob. |

I'd go over to an all CZ forum. They have walk throughs with pics.
Basically you need to knock out the roll pins keeping the firing pin in place. The firing pin block and it's spring will be removed. Reassemble firing pin with the roll pins. Next you need to remove the fire control pack out. This is where the how to with pics will come in handy. You then remove the firing block lifter and it's associated spring. You have to buy a spacer to replace the lifter or grind of the legs on the lifter. I've done it both ways. I'd recommend buying a spacer. Reassemble and function test. |

Go the CGW route. I suggest Kit 2. Their kits come with adjustable sears so they are pretty much drop in. Directions are good and he is quick to respond with any questions. The kits eliminate almost all the hammer camming.
As far as the heat treat I would ask CGW. I am sure they have considered this. |
