A friend of mine traded for a nice CZ75 police last weekend, knowing damn well that I was a CZ hoarder. I had never seen one until he brought it over. It is marked CZ75 Police, has a loaded chamber indicator, grooved trigger, lanyard loop, and checkered front and rear grip straps. Gun was made in 2008, and appears to have been fired little. It appears that CZ has quit stamping Police on their newer pistols, CZ75BD, but still calls them POLICE models. It also appears that the original Police model is fairly scarce, your thought's

I had a 75 Police a few years ago, but sold it because I don't like the decocker models. It was tough to sell though. I probably pulled it out at least five times over a couple years with the intent to sell, but like most CZs it just felt too good in my hand and I'd put it back. Never cared for the grooved trigger either though.

I don't know much about the naming and production history, but the 75BD is a different pistol than the Police. It's very similar of course, but lacks some of those features you described. The BD has been around for a while. And I see both the BD and Police are on CZ's site, so I'm guessing they're still making Police models with the "Police" stamp on the side.

Yep, they still make both of these models, except the word Police is no longer there, and no loaded chamber indicator as I am told. I went ahead and bought it from my friend. I can't sell any of my CZ's, would like to have a matte stainless next. Thanks for your reply

Yep, that's the one. I thought I sold it to someone else though, I think in Virginia? I figured maybe he sold it to you?

I can't remember who I bought it from. I've had it since 2009. I paid $400 shipped for it. I've had a few offers for it but I don't have it in me to sell it.
