I was at the LGS today and decided to buy this CZ on a whim. It is a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical in 9mm.

I should get to the range this week. Hopefully the pistol runs.

I don't know much about CZ pistols. Is their anything I need to know about this particular model with respect to known issues, break in, ammo to use, anything at all etc......

If its new in the box, field strip it, and clean the bore. Lightly grease the frame/slide rails. Go to Walmart and buy several 100 round value packs of 9mm ball. Then go and shoot the heck out of it, come home, clean, and wonder why you have not bought a CZ before this. They are fabulous pistols and the accuracy of that gun will amaze you.

I have put thousands of rounds down mine with only a couple cleanings, It always works. I think some people replace the recoil spring with stronger one, but i have never bothered.

Nothing you have to do to it . . . although I'm sure you'll find things you'll want to do!

..you might replace the recoil spring with a LIGHTER one. If the spring is made from flat wire, rather than round wire, it may cause issues with lower power ammo.....
I run a 11lb spring in my SP-01.

What is the general thought on dry firing this pistol?

I would not, unless you have a snap cap. Some guys do it, why take a chance on breaking it.

Won't hurt a thing.  Use a snap cap if it will ease your mind.

Well I'd say you have had a pretty awesome "whim". So far the three people other than myself who have shot my Shadow all want one. None had even heard of CZ before.

That's a sweet pistola dude. Go check out CzCustom. All kinds of goodies to slap on if you want.

Pretty sure it will run alright.....

I put 200 rounds of American Eagle 115g FMJ through it today.

Everything fed/fired/ejected, no malfunctions.

It is a pretty sweet shooting pistol.
