I have owned 5 CZ's over the last 6 years and I have heard that dry firing them is really really bad. I have also heard that it isn't bad at all.

So...

Which is it?

i dryfire mine all the time.

however, if its keeping you up all night, then use a snap cap or "O" ring.

Honestly, I don't know how much it would take to really cause a problem. But I use A-Zoom snap caps when dry firing anyway.

I may start going the o-ring route though, because the A-Zooms do eventually wear out.

Ok.

Someone clue me in on the "o-ring", please.

We're referring to placing a small o-ring on the back of the slide. The hammer impacts the o-ring.

Nope. Too simple....

Where's the candid camera?

Thanks

If your CZ has a firing pin block, the roll pin used to retain the firing pin may break with extended periods of dryfire.

If you don't have a FPB - like with a Pre-B, Shadow, or TS - then there's nothing to worry about. They use a 1911-style firing pin retainer, not any kind of cross-pin (that is subject to breaking).
