I have had my CW9 since last summer, and bought it as a carry gun. It has functioned flawlessly even through the break in period. However last time I took it out I had two light primer strikes. I thought at first that it was just bad primers, but then I loaded them again (I know, I know) and they worked. Is there any explanation for this? Also I clean it every time I shoot it. I have lost a lot of faith in it as it is my carry gun, so any suggestions would be great.
ETA: The strike left on the light strikes were round, not the typical Kahr "raindrop" style strike. |

I would contact Kahr get them to send you a new striker spring. Then dissasemble upper/slide and clean striker channel and striker may just be some crud built up causing light primer strikes. And replace striker spring with new one while you are at it.Here is a link to slide dissasembly.Look about halfway down page for a post by Backdraft and download instructions in PDF format http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308824&page=2 be careful when removing backplate of slide striker spring and guide will go flying.I use a clear comforter bag just in case.
If that does not solve the light strikes refer to this thread http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1017476 this guy had to send his CW9 back to Kahr a few times but they finally resolved his light strike problems. Fenderman |

| Thanks for the replies, I was hoping it was something minor like what you guys suspect. I think I may have gotten some oil in the firing pin hole. I wont be able to deal with it this week, but should have plenty of time the week after next. I think I will pick up an extra spring just to have around, and if cleaning out the striker area doesn't work I will try replacing the spring. I figured it had to be something like this because I don't get to go shooting as much as I would like, which results in the gun sitting around for weeks on end and I assume allows gunk to settle. |

Yes probably the striker spring thats why i suggested replacing it during upper dissasembly. Now you have to repeat process to replace striker spring. But its not a big deal just takes a little time.Keep us posted. If you still have light strikes after replacing striker spring i would contact Kahr.If you have to call Kahr punch 0 i think it is (been awhile since i have had to call Kahr)for there operator and you will have a good chance at actually talking to someone.Otherwise you will probaly stay on hold forever or get voicemail.
