Hi there,
I have a Kahr MK9 and I'm encountering problems with frequent lock-back on the slide. My thumb isn't touching the lever and I'm not limp wristing. I took a look at the slide release mechanism and I noticed that it seems like it would be really easy for the lever to raise simply under the force of recoil as the spring is rather flimsy. Does anyone know if Kahr makes a heavier spring for the slide release lever? I've tried to avoid having to send it in but I suppose I'll have to if I can't find a solution on my own. Thanks! |

Thanks! can't believe it is the slide release spring, check the inside of our slide release lever, and see if there is some copper color on the top of the slide lever part that actually comes into contact withthe magazine follower. If there is a copper c0llor on that slide release, then it is hitting the casing and you need to get a new slide release lever or file it down yourself to eliminate that contact. Recoil cannot be causing what ur referring to. Let someone else shoot it and see if they encounter the same problem. My bet is your rounds are coming into contact withthe slide release.... Happens alot on 1911's... alot. The slide release lever spring is simple to replace, probably would be a goodplace to start to troubleshoot your issue though. |
