Hey guys, I have PM9 with about 800-1000 rounds

Last time at the range, I had a few Jams (two in the factory 7 round magazine, and one in the factory 6). On all three jams, the same thing happen: After shooting the first round, the slider would jam in the open position and the bullet would be facing a little bit down / not feeding into the chamber.

It was similar to when you have a full magazine and try to load the first round by racking it. However, it would happen after shooting the first round. I accredited the jams to the ammo  Winchester White Box. So I finish that box (WWB) on the Beretta 92fs (with no problem) and continued shooting the PM9 with Blazer Brass.

Today, I had the same problem happen again a couple of times. Worse yet, by the end of 100-150 rounds, the gun developed another type of jam. Now, the gun would not shoot the last bullet (and the slider would be all the way closed as if it was ready to shoot). I would tap and rack... and sure enough, the last bullet would come out flying out of the chamber. It happen 5 consecutive times with my two factory magazines. After that, I decided to go home, not feeling too confident about the gun that suppose to be my main concealed carry weapon

This time I used Blazer Brass only. Every time I comeback from the range, I clean and lube my gun using the Kahr PM Lube Chart. So both times at the range, the gun was clean when I started shooting

Any ideas of what could be happening?

On the good side and getting a better feel for the trigger

thanks a lot!

Inspect the slide stop spring.  These may break or deform and can cause premature slide lock.  Kahr sends you free replacement springs and screws if you have a problem.

Clean the magazines.  While you have them apart, check the followers for cracks or breaks.

Replace the recoil spring.  Kahr is recommending that most guns get new recoil springs at around 1200 rounds.
Buy a factory weight spring, no extra-power springs.

Inspect the firing pin and slide as much as you can for debris in the assembly.  It might be fouled or have some brass casing particles stuck inside.
You may need to have the slide disassembled and cleaned out.

Thanks....

Kahr Arms recommended to change the recoil spring as a first course of action. I already order one from them...

* Are you chambering a round by using the slide release, or another method (slingshot or hand over slide)?
* Are you sure you are not limp wristing?
*Are you sure you aren't giving the slide release a little pressure when you are shooting it?  In other words hitting it with your hand as the gun recoils?
* Did you check your frame / slide/ followers or burrs?
* What type of lube are you using?

You said the gun has 800-1K rounds through it, has this always happened, or is it a fairly new problem?

Have you detail stripped the slide? When I did on my MK9, the striker channel had all sorts of gunk and bits of brass in it. I wasn't getting any failures, but it was probably only a matter of time.

Are you activating the mag release with your grip? My boyfriend had this problem. When he would hold the gun and inspect his grip it looked fine. But when he actually shot it, the recoil would cause the tip of his thumb to press the mag release (hence the need for the tap-rack-bang).

It is the slide stop spring.  First check and see that it is properly engaging the slide stop.  If it appears to be right... contact Kahr for a replacement.
