So I just bought my first XD this week.  And XDm in .40 S&W.  Shot it for the first time yesterday, and am really liking it so far.  It looks like it's going to be a great gun!

But I'm curious to know what your recommended modifications or improvements would be to it?  I'm not familiar with what's available yet, and don't know what I should be looking to have done first.  I'm pretty confident that I want to replace the factory sights first probably, but then what?

This gun will be used for both daily concealed carry as well as IPSC shooting in limited division.

Thanks in advance!

The only mods I like with a new gun are:

1. Ammo
2. More Ammo
3. Range time

Internal laser.

Lots of ammo.

A barrel in .357 Sig.

Some .357 Sig ammo.

A 9mm barrel. (Don't know if they have those, yet.) Followed by a pair of 9mm magazines.

More ammo.

While I can appreciate the "More Ammo" recommendation...  I was looking for something a bit more hardware related?

I read about a lot of folks getting the Springer Precision trigger job done.  Can someone describe what's involved with that, and how it changes the stock trigger pull?  Remember, this is also a carry gun, so I don't necessarily want the pull to be dangerously light for that type of situation.

Also, what are the best recommended replacement sights for this gun?

Thanks!

We have videos on our website in the VIDEO section that would most likely answer your trigger questions. Sights depend on what you want them to do, there is no generic "best sights." We would be more than happy to give you our opinions if you give the shop a call.
