I've got an ich to buy another 1911.  I bought a Kimber Ultra CDP, now I want a full size 1911, but I can't swing another $1000.00 or more dollar.  So, I'm thinking Springfield, any comments recommends would be great!  Under $700.00

BTW, I may be using it for security work, where it must be exposed.

Hey, if it's gonna be a Service gun.........................why not get a service gun??     The green parked Mil-Spec is going for $399 around here and while it has no "bells & whistles", it is a good basic gun.   I got one last month and I can't complain a lick about it.  Shoots well, feeds reliably - I did have to tap over the rear sights a "smidgeon" to get it on target....................but other than that, it's been good so far after about 400rounds.

If you have some more $$$ available, you could opt for a little more upgraded version with the better sights ...................... but since you already have a Kimber - it might just be nice to have the basic piece (a taste of history).
