I have been using the Beretta M9 and clones for years, so the XD trigger was a big departure from the crisp break of the M9.  At first I was a little intimidated by the great distance of trigger travel prior to break but I quickly realized the reset and pull falls within the timeline to re-gain sight picture for the .45  I'm sure it could benefit from a trigger job, especially for rapid fire and target applications.  After getting used to it, I believe the XD's trigger is perfect for duty carry because you have a long path to break, and it breaks in a consistent and predictable mannor, which may not be the preffered function of a target trigger, it works well for a tactical user who may have to hesitate to regain the sight picture.  I can't imagine a situation where the trigger pull would affect the tactical shooter in a negative way if the shooter was using proper form.  A 100 meter shot would be an issue with a long pull I'm sure, but not likely a practical/ tactical issue.  Anyone who has a factory trigger job, I would be interested in feedback, if you are a tactical shooter or have prior tactical experience.  Thanks

Aaaauuuuhhhh ?? I'm not sure that your comparison of triggers is quite accurate. I own both, but ok... if you say so.... Issue is the Springfield trigger, gotcha. You can send your XD to factory or you can send it to Springer for the same if not better results.... I don't want to get into a contest between the two, so I'm staying neutral. Same thing with triggers on Beretta vs XD.........
Those three are mine.. The Elite II has has an awesome trigger job. In middle is my daily carry XD45C with a Springer trigger kit. On right is my XD357Sig, bone cold factory stock. Of the three the Beretta has the longest pull. ( Are you sure you wanted to hang your cross on that hill ?? It's a true double action. ) The Beretta also has the shortest reset followed very closely by the XD reset after installing the Springer kit. The best overall trigger is the Springerized XD, reminding me more of a 1911 trigger than anything else... It also has the shortest amount of travel on first shot. The stock XD on the right has a shorter amount of travel on first shot than Beretta, but it's still long with the reset being almost as bad..... Hope that helps...

I don't disagree with you but the M9's have a better reset and SA.  I didn't like the XD's pull at first but with practice it gets the job done.
I will look into Springer, Thank You

I sent my XD45 Tactical to Springer Precision and had a trigger job done on it along with the "factory clean-up" they offer...

It helped both the trigger pull weight and reset travel a great deal. Worth every penny...

It seems like a good deal.  I will probably stick with Springfield for custom work.  Does anyone know if factory custom work increases value?  I ask this because I have done my own work on M9's and clones and most dealers will not give much more for custom options. I have had great luck with private collectors who know quality work when they see it, but the XD being plastic probably won't increase in value?
