I have a XD .40 subcompact 3" barrel. What is the best, most comfortable but affordable holsters for concealment? "Affordable" is okay . . . but don't be cheap. You get what you pay for. I have a Crossbreed Supertuck for my XD9sc, and I love it. There are many other happy users of the Supertuck as well; you'll hardly ever find someone who is NOT happy with it. Look through some of the threads here, and of course there are scads of XD holster threads at xdtalk. I also recommend a stiff gun belt. It will not only help support the gun (so your pants don't sag), but it will also hold the gun/holster closer to your body and it will conceal better. This is true with any holster, not just the Supertuck. Spend the money now for a good holster and gun belt. Or . . . spend a little money now, be unhappy for a while, and then spend even more money later. Just go for it. |

Been carrying mine in an MTAC with a Beltman belt(horsehide/no stiffener/velcro stitched) for about 7 months and it's great. I also have The Answer from Tucker. They're almost the same holster. The MTAC has more cant adjust ability and you can get velcro clips for deep concealment. The Answer has a felt backing which is more comfortable for some and it's clips tend to stay in one place on the belt.
I also have a DeSantis Mini-Slide OWB. I've only been wearing it for about 10 days so it's not broken in yet but I like it. |

Comp-Tac make several really good ones.
C-TAC and the Minotaur are well known. I have the C-TAC and love mine. The advantage of the C-TAC is re-holstering is very fast since both sides of the holster are polymer. The Minotaur is a little more comfortable to wear since one side of the holster is leather (which sits against your body taking some of the hardness away). Check out their web page is has lots of pictures. Hope this helps. husk-AR |
