I sold my Sig 226 40sw for a profit. I would have kept it, but I don't like 40sw. I don't know why, I just like how 45acp feels. Anyway, I was thinking of getting an XD45 compact, so I can put ten rounders and 13 rounders in it, having the best of both worlds: I can conceal if I want, or carry a 13 round mag with grip extension, and boom, I have a full size.
Anyway, I've felt the weapon, but not shot it. I've shot a g21sf, and felt a g30. Don't much care for grip, though the .45 is great. So, anyone have one? What do you guys think of it. I'll probably get one anyway, as they feel good in my hand, but I'd like to hear some yays and nays anyway. |

I have an XD-45 Compact and two Tacticals and really like them –– they are the only polymer double-stack .45ACP platform that fits my hands well and I shoot them much better than the others (tried most of 'em over the years). I don't carry it (a G19 has been my primary CCW for about 15 years now and I don't plan to change) so I can't speak to that directly, but mine has been completely reliable and a joy to shoot. |
| The XD45c is my primary carry and I use the ten rounders for packing. I rented a G36 before buying this and chose it over Glock because of backstrap safety. It's a handful to shoot and has more felt recoil than the 36. ( The reason those Glock mag's are covered in plastic is to absorb recoil. ) I special ordered mine in with factory tritium sights which are bright. My carry holster is a Galco Skyops thats been treated with Galco's EZDRAW. Holster is ambidextrius so I turned the belt clip around to carry middle of back and the SkyOps allows you to tuck in your shirt. My favorite game when new to play was, OK where's my 45 ? It's a good combination because of comfort and the relability of the XD. |

Love mine. Rock solid shooter. I also prefer the 45, but the Glocks just don't sit well in my hand. The XD does.
When I went in thegun store, I was 100% sold on the G23. I had a G22 years ago, and it did a good job. The slightly smaller G23 was sure to be just as good. I held the G23 for a few minutes, and said something like, "I wish it was a 45.", and dude handed my the XD-45. Game Over Glock!!! http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/qq17/FHBrumb/XD-45012.jpg I have since ditched the Hogue and added rubber stick on grips. |

My wife has an XD45c, and she loves it. And for what it's worth, so do I.
I really haven't heard much "bad" about the XD45c . . . if you like XDs in general, then it seems that you'll like the XD45c. The grip is a bit longer than the grip on the 9/40 sub-compact models, so you may not need the Pearce extension when using the smaller mags. |
