Guys
Had a friend give me her .40 XDm because she wanted a different grip on it. 1. Got the Grip roll pin out no problem, but having a hard time getting back in. DO the pins come out and go back in a certain way like Glocks. 2. When disassembling the gun, to take the slide off do you have to press the trigger so the slide....slides off. Thanks for your help. |

Just use a roll pin punch and a roll pin starter punch and you shouuld have no issues. The XDM has an auto take down feature so the slide just falls off. I remove this feature on my personal XDM's as I have no use for the extra parts in my gun. Hi! I've heard that this part may also be prone to break..Do you have any thoughts on that? Also, Could you advise on how to remove this? I'm really considereing an XDm 9mm and this 'issue' is propbably the only thing holding me bac. Thanks so much |

Not trolling here, I genuinely am intersted in wheteher or nor this is a legit issue.. Thanks |
| No, your the first one I have heard saying those parts break....For me the safety features are the selling point of an XD and especially the XDM, not having to pull the trigger to take the slide off is a huge plus. Then again Murphy follows me around more than he does most guys. ( If shit happens, it will happen to me. ) Have taken my son's XDM completely apart, Tetragreased the extracter like it should have been from factory and assembled it. The XD is a great and safe weapons format, but the XDM takes the line to an even safer level.... If I wasn't so accident prone and safety conscious I'd be carrying a series 80 1911, " cocked and locked " all of the time and would have no need for an XD, XDM |
