It appears that Springfield does not make a holster for us lefties who might like to carry our XD pistol.  Anyone know of a good IWB paddle-type holster for an XD?  Would settle for an OWB if I had to, but really prefer IWB.

Thanks.

I seem to remember a thread just a few days ago where a new XD owner called SA and they sent him out a leftie gratis.

Really?  Was that here in the Springfield section?  I scanned through about 4 pages and didn't seem to find that thread.

Swing by xdtalk.com

I've heard of people calling SA and telling them that they are lefty and SA would send them LH paddle holsters.

Give Springfield Armory customer service a call.
Give them the serial number on your Pistol and theyll send out a left hand XD gear belt holster.

This is from personal experience.

Sadly, I don't recall off hand.  I'm going through my browser history to see if I can find the thread, but I typically keep that trimmed down

That's what Springfield did for me.

It's a tupperware OWB holster.

I use it all the time. It's not bad when used with a proper CCW belt.

midwayusa.com will have enough choices to confuse your choice. I just bought a Galco Skyops for my XD45 compact. Same holster will work left or right when carried middle of back and you can keep your shirt tucked. Or you could call Galco direct and order. Skyops is sold fitting an 1 1|4 belt. But...they also make a retainer for 1 1/2 belt and they will direct bill/ship to you. Anyway there are lots of options for leftys.

I believe I was the one who told the XD owner to call SA for a free lefty in the missing thread. They will send you one for each XD pistol you own. All you need is a serial number of each gun. Its a basic OWB paddle holster but it works and IMO better constructed than a Fobus.

I just bought a 1911, and they did it for me. It came with a belt holster(RH) and dual mag holder. I called while driving home from work one day. They asked for the serial number. I told the guy I could get it, but the people around might not like it. He let it slide.

Great info guys, thanks!  I've got an XD9 Service model, and I really think I'm going to pick up an XDm.

Fantastic.  I've heard nothing but good things about SA's support.

I just fired off an email to them re an issue I'm having with my XD.  I purchased it right after SA acquired the
HS2000 line.  It has a unstoppable rust issue(known issue on early release guns) and mag button just started
sticking .  Here's hoping they take care of my problem as smoothly.   None of my other guns show any rust so
this is not due to neglect.  I am nothing if not thorough with cleaning/lubing my guns.  I will of course post results
either way.

Now if they'd only start selling a 10mm 1911.

Those rusting issues are quite common on the older XD models. My 9mm Tactical is of the older time line and has the same rust issues if handled to much without wiping down the slide.Their new finish is 10x better. I've heard that SA will refinish those older guns for free. I'm having a hard time believing that and was going to refinish myself but if you get a positive reply and they'll do it, let me/us know.

If you still want an IWB or different one, call or email Mike.
He makes a nice holster.

I finally got around to calling Springfield customer service about a LH holster.  They're sending me out a holster for the 9 service and the 9SC.  Apparently there is no LH holster for the XDm yet.

He also indicated that the LH holsters could be purchased on the website, but I can't seem to find them.  I'd like to have a spare available to me (my Crossbreed for my 1911 broke a J-clip and it sucks not having a back-up except for my Serpa, which isn't very good for CC.)

Springfield sent me a L/H paddle holster for my 1911 and my XD. Free of charge. All they wanted was the serial #. Got 'em both in less than a week.

I was expecting to be asked for serial numbers, but wasn't.

Just to let y'all know, I called today about the XDm 9mm left hand holster, and they said that they weren't out yet, but if I called in about a month, they should be ready and would ship one out free of charge.

That is excellent news!  I was hoping (greedily) that they would ship me one for my 9 service and one for my 9SC, but they sent me a single holster.  Can't fault 'em really...free is free.  I'll definitely follow up on the M9 holster though.

Thanks!
