I have one.  It's pretty nice.  But now that I got a Glock 19 I don't carry the XD Sub anymore.

The glock has a 1" longer barrel, and longer sight radius, even though total overall length of the G19 is only a hair longer.

The glock is just a smidgen taller, yet holds 5 more rounds in the magazine.

The glock is slightly slimmer, translating into a much better feel for IWB Carry.

Even when loaded with 15 rounds of ammo vs. the XD's 10, the glock is, within a fraction of an ounce one way or the other, the same weight.

No brainer, Glock wins (for me at least).

I want one, but it'd probably just be a fun gun instead of a carry piece.  I've got too many more on the list waiting for purchase, so it'll be a while, but I love the XDs.

I have one along with an XD 45 4 incher. I really like the XD 9 sub compact, Once the wife gets her CCL I will let her carry the 9. With the mag extension things the XD sub will hold 16+1 rounds too. However for a smaller more concealable weapon the 10 round mag is nice.

I DO not like glocks.

I am looking at getting one for my wife.  She tried the Glock 19 and did not like it.  She didn't like the  way it fit in her hand.  She really liked the way the XD felt in her hand but we have not been able to shoot one. I was wondering about it having such a short barrel, but it doesn't really seem to be an issue.  Keep the replys coming. I would like to hear from more people.  Thank you

I carried one IWB for about a year.

Pros:

Reliable and solid
relatively cheap mags, sub accepts 15 rounders, also grip extender available.
Reasonable accuracy
nice trigger
Lifetime warranty if bought new
very short, for concealment
Better grip angle than Glock, IMO.

Cons (for me):
Blocky, carried like a brick. Not the best pistol for IWB carry, IMO.
Finish was a bit thin, did OK but I oil regularly.
Polymer grip not upgradeable (I put a Handall on it).

In the end, though it was a fine weapon, it never grew on me, and I ended up trading it for a Sig.

I'm hearing 15 roungs. The XD9sc holds 16 rounds in the extention mag and 10 rounds in the other mag. Anyway I have a XD9sc and bought it with out shooting it before hand. I just love the way it felt in my hands.

After I shot it that was the topping of the cake for me. I was amazed how accurate the 3" barrel was. This is the gun that made me a belivier in XD's. I ended up buying another. The XDm 40.

As for CC I felt that it was comfortable to wear on the hip and didnt notice it was there. The 10 round mag does make it print less then the extended mag but I OC so I prefer the extended mag as it feels better in my hand then the 10 round mag. There is a extention for the 10 round mag that helps grip it better.

I think your wife will be abled to handle the recoil of this gun. It's a good fun CC or OC gun.

It is my BUG.

Great gun.

The Pearce Mag Grip extensions are a must have.

I like my XD9-Sub and have no problems recomending it.  I shoot better with it than a number of others and I can carry it well either as a pocket gun or on a belt.  After a little practice with it it is a great gun.

Compared to a G26: XD grip is better. XD slide is taller and "clunkier", IMO. XD seems to have more muzzle flip (shooting one handed) do to taller slide. I like being able to change trigger weight on the glock, but really like the grip safety on the XD.

They both pass muster for me, you won't go wrong either way.

Love mine, shoots great.  I only have 500 rounds through it with no issues of any kind.  My only complaint would be with the 16 round mag extension, make sure the extension doesn't ride up on the magazine causing it not to seat properly.  Only happened once after that I made a habit of giving it a confirmation tug. YMMV

I always carried a Sig .40 in the past, but once I picked up the XD9sc, I knew it was going to be my new carry piece.  It just fits my hand so much better.  The Sig never gave me 100% comfort when I held it.  I carry the XD s/c w/ the 10 rd mag (along w/ the Pearce pinky-extension) and it's about as comfortable as a concealed carry can be.

I've contemplated picking up glocks in the past...but I just can't get over their awkward feel.  The grip angle is just bizarre to me.

I have an XD9sc and carry it every day, and I'm happy with it.  A couple of suggestions:

- Get the Pearce extension, as mentioned earlier.  It makes a huge difference in the grip of the gun.

- For higher mag capacity, you can modify XD40 sub-compact mags to use for 9mm; they will hold 13 rounds of 9mm.  See the link below.  I just did this to two mags, and so far everything is working just fine.  NOTE:  Test your new mags thoroughly before you rely on them for self-defense!

I have an XD9sc as my carry pistol that is with me practically at all times.

I'm going to get it refinished in hard-chrome at some point, but for now it is staying two-tone stock.

i have one, it's been great.  dont carry it anymore as my GF has taken it as her own.  she has little hands and shoots it better than anything else that I have.  add the 16rnd mag and its a nice little set-up for her.

My wife carries one most of the time. Its a little snappy and you need to control it well while doing rapid fire. The wife's has been totally reliable.
