i'm curious, how many of you guys with MC operators or operators with the full rail (i think called a loaded operator?) - needed work for the guns to feed HPs out of the box? and what kind of groups can you get of the gun if you do your part?
i think i'm about set on a 1911 for my first gun (After i cut my teeth on a .22lr a friend of mine has), i've shot a 1911 before, an auto ordinance that was a rattle trap- and i shot it welll. of the 1911's so far the MC operator has really caught my eye (as has the wilson KZ-45 and STI lawman)

I recently bought a MC Operator with the short rail.  Day after I bought it I took it out and shot 300 rounds of Winchester white box 230gr ball and 40 rounds of Corbon DPX 185gr +P and had no malfunctions.  I used Wilson Combat 8rd stainless mags.  I haven't tried it with the factory mags.

I've bought two 1911s before the MC Operator (Kimber TLE II and Kimber Stainless Pro Carry II) and this is the first time I've ever been impressed with a pistol.  I could barely tell any difference in recoil between the ball and +P ammo.

It's 13oz heavier than my Pro Carry but isn't a hassle to carry concealed.  Only issue is finding holsters for 1911s with rails.  There are plenty online, but I couldn't find a single one in multiple trips to mulitple gun shops.

As far as grouping goes, I couldn't tell you.  So far I've done all my shooting from standing with tactical accuracy in mind.  Just out of curiosity I took 8 shots at a target about the size of a silhouette target without the head at a 100 yards.  I got two rounds on paper.  I don't know if this pistol is going to win you any competitions, but I would rely on it for duty/tactical/self-defense situations.

nice! see, i kinda ask myself, "if i could only have one..." which is why i have an Ar-15 for a rifle. take CCW out of the equation, and 9mm out of consideration, and the Glock 19 (the jack of all trades in most's book)- becomes less desireable. i think a well made, 5in 1911 is what i'm looking for ("targets first, zombies second"). and i think the MC operator might be my ticket, epecially after reading your review!

You won't be disappointed in an MC Operator.

i love my mc operator, i bought mine while was on rxr from the sandbox, and put only 150rds through it, and i was very impressed, it has been a dream gun of mine for years and i finally had the money and the shop happened to have one so i got it. i shoot great and with more time i am sure that i will be able to do even better with it. i have some long range trips and training to attend with it when i get back and i will be sure to give a good aar or 2.

I just got an MC Operator 2 days ago. Not 1 problem - fed hollowpoints as well. And, VERY accurate. Goes exactly where I put it.
