Isn't there a method to take up the slack in the trigger in this piece?

Alot of travel in it.

Yes.  You can practice till you can reliably work the trigger, or you can get one of the fine trigger jobs, or you can order the parts and do the job yourself.

the trigger wil get much nicer with use. mine got perfect after about 1000 rds. as far as after market triggers and parts you can get them from www.pistolgear.com and no they aren't made by springfield.

if you want the work done by someone other than yourself, you can send it to sa, springer precision, bowie tactical concepts etc.

Go over to XDTALK.COM and talk to those guys they have loads of infor on the XDs and aftermarket stuff for them.  They pointed me in the right direction with my XD45
