I want to replace the sights on my 4" XD9. I've read that I can replace them w/ aftermarkets made for Sigs, but I'm not sure WHICH Sigs. Also, which sights have you guys put on your's and specifically where did you get them? I'm looking for more glow for these old eyes. If there's already a great thread on this, a like would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I replaced the factory sights on my Service 40 with a set of Meprolights that I bought from www.MidwayUSA.com. You can do a search for sights on their website and it will show up. They were just under $80 for the set, and did state on the package that they also would fit some SIG models. I got the green front and orange rear tritium tubes, makes it easier to identify in the dark. I have put the Meprolight green & greens on a couple of dozen other pistols and revolvers and the orange green is much easier with my old eyes. I am sure the other brands of tritiums are good, I just have been using the Meprolights for a lot of years and happy with the results. They do require a little fitting with a real small file, but the factory sights are really tight in the dovetail. Luckly there are index marks on either side of the dovetail to gauge the position when you replace them. The dovetail on the slide is tapered so take care to read the direction that they come out and go in. I think I remember that you push on the starboard side with the punch to remove, but check that before pounding on it. |
Trijicon SG01 nite sites work with sig and XD,I got mine at Cals Sporting Armory. They cost about $78 bucks. Have a gunsmith put them on for you!!! XD sites are very hard to remove. They work with all XDs from 9mm to 45.also work with Sig 226=229=228=239 and i think the sigpros. . Cals is a very nice company to deal with. very fast. make sure you have them e-mail their best price.
