anyone using a lasermax in their .45? i'm thinking of getting one and wondered about it's effectivness? i have a xd45 in 4 inch barrel

Yes, but mine is in an XD9 sub compact. I love having it and have had no problems with it.

Here's the ambidextrous on/off built into the take-down lever:
