Folks, I want to put better sights (old eyes) on my GI Champion. Does anyone know whether the front sight tenon is wide or narrow? Is the rear sight dove tail the standard size for aftermarket sights? Thanks in advance for your help. Mike |
| honestly for the front you'd be best off to pay the money to have it dovetailed, for some reason once you remove a staked front site every one that gets staked on after eventually decides to remove itself from the gun. the rear dovetail will take anything that is listed as fitting "factory colt 1911 dovetail and clones" anything else should specify the dovetail needed i.e. novak, heinie, STI etc. for example the wilson snag free sights have a rear that fits the factory colt/springfield cut, and the front requires a heinie style dovetail, and they are also available for front and rear novak cuts. |
