What is the best holster for a Full Size .45 XD?

I would like 3 holsters.

1) concealed weapon holster
2) regular hip holster
3) drop holster - which will probably be a blackhawk Omega.  I liked the one I had for my former H&K MK23

I guess this is a popular question...

For CCW I like my K&D Leather holster.

For regular hip I just use an Uncle Mikes Kydex or Black Hawk CQC.

I do not have a drop leg yet.

I really like my safariland holster for USPSA. It's not very concealable though.

I have a Blade-Tech IWB for my XD45. I had a leather IWB for my last gun(1911Commander) and I think it was a little more comfortable(less "pokey"), but the plastic BT is easier to draw and re-holster and get in and out of my pants.

I have a Comp Tac C-TAC and it is one of the most comfortable IWB holsters that I have found.

I bought my for a XD 40 Service, and use it for both the Service and Sub Compact models.

The product is top notch and their CS is above and beyond great.

I have one of the XD gear Paddle holsters (not the smaller belt loop holster that comes packaged with the pistol).  I think it is a great holster for general range use.  It has an adjustable tension, swivels for forward/rear cant and has an adjustable height for high/low wear.  I wouldn't try to use this for CCW since it sticks out from the body like a duty holster.

For CCW my buddy has a Galco fletch style which brings the pistol pretty close to the body.  I like the feel of that holster, but you'd probably have to have a jacket to completely conceal.

Hope that helps.

I appreciate your help!  I figured that if I was going to get one I had better get some reviews first.

I have been very happy with my Don Hume P.C.C.H. holster for iwb concealed carry. Good deal too at only $40.

1) concealed weapon holster -- I have an IWB holster from Crossbreed Holsters that serves me well. Very inexpensive, too.

2) regular hip holster -- I'd like one that has the retention button, what's the name of it?

ETA

I also have a ClipDraw on my XD. It works well, lots better than you'd think.

Are you talking about the Blachawk Serpa?

I have a Crossbreed Super Tuck for my 45 Compact and a Hume IWB from Pistol Gear for my Subcompact 9mm.

The Supertuck is very comfortable.

I've been looking at the Versa Max 2 by Milt Sparks. It's inside the waist band, strong side. About $100-130 and seems to have good reviews. Little expensive though. I thought it might fit my SA 5" 1911 .45, should have no problem with the XD.

What model XD do you have?  My Don Hume catalog and price sheet from January 2007 shows the PCCH only for the subcompact.  I would like to try it with a .45cal 4" compact

I will definately second the Crossbreed holsters. I have the Supertuck deluxe and love it. I think the Comp-Tac ctac would be a close second. I can wear my xd357 service all day an noone knows unless I tell them. A bit of a bulge, but not obviously a handgun. As far as the regular holster, I like the blackhawk serpa also. Cant help on the thigh rig though.

I use the Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe.

At first it was difficult to find the right adjustment for it.

After I got it adjusted just right for me and wore it in,
it is quite comfortable. It forms to your shape after a
few days .

I can comfortably drive long distances with mine on
and forget it's there .

My XD is the 4 inch barrel,so yours may be slightly
more difficult to carry IWB .

I have to second the Don Hume for IWB carry. Toss on a loose T-shirt and my XD45 Service is gone.
For OWB, hip carry I have a high ride High Noon Slide Guard. Nice holster, but it rides very high and at my age, the shoulders and elbows complain a lot. With this rig, a good, solid, genuine gunbelt is absolutely essential...don't cheap-out.
