[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Has Springfeild changer their XD grip length?

I was at the gun shop the other day and was looking at a XD40.The grip was about 1/2 inch smaller than the .45 they had there.The guy said that is was not a compact.The 40 came with two 12 round mags.So does Springfeild make a shorter grip now than say one from 2 years ago?

The 40/9mm/357/45 gap has always been shorter than the non-compact 45 ACP service. I have both.
