Well, I shot one of my 1911's today. It is a Stainless GI 45. Put about 100 rounds through her. When I got home and started cleaning, I noticed the frame rail (non safety side) is cracked - it starts at the hammer end of the frame and runs along the underside of the rail until about 1/4 way through the mag opening. I know Springfield is a good company and I have heard good things about their warranty, but how will they handle a pistol that has been modified? Mods I have made to the frame:  fitted beavertail, new hammer, trigger, MSH and safety. Only mods to the slide are new sights. I makes me sick because I put alot of work into this pistol.

Only one way to find out and that is to ask them.

What you've done should have no impact on the frame rails.
