I picked up a Springfield Micro45 at a gun show Saturday. I was reading the maual that comes with the gun and noticed that in breaking the pistol down you need a sleeve that snaps on to the rod. This sleeve was not with the gun. Can it be picked up locally an a gun shop or does it need to be ordered from Springfield? How imprtant is it in breaking the gun down for cleaning?

You won't find one from a gun store, IMO. I have been able to field strip mine w/o using it though.

I would call Springfield first, I bet they'll send you one @ N/C..........

Called Springfield, they are sending two pieces out to me right away. Thanks for the help.

You can get it broken down with out the special sleeve but it is a real pain!

Not with a little bit of practice, IMO.
