Has anyone with an SA XD 9mm 4" Service Model remove their factory 17-18 lb. load-rated spring/Guide Rod and replace it with a Wolff 22 lb. Spring and Guide Rod I have had a trigger job from CC and now interested in the Wolff Spring and Guide Rod set to compliment the trigger job. Is this a good idea There are other load-rated springs in the Wolff line-up, but I heard the 22 is the most popular.

Factory setting of 17lb to 22lb aftermarket is quite a jump with normal FMJ ammo, IMO. While it may indeed work, I'm not sure what you would gain with it? Keep in mind that a higher recoil spring is going to send the slide forward back to battery a bit faster & harder as well. IOW, there's no free lunch.  My .o2 |
