Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Any Springfield Gurus?

I picked up a Springer 9mm 1911 A1 (model #P19108) at the local gunshow.Springfield states the gun was manufactured in March 1990, and it has a majority of  forged parts.Did they use as many MIM parts in the early 1990s as they do now?
