I have a springer GI, I thought about polishing the whole Bbl tonight, it has wear on it already, any drawbacks? should I do it?

No point in polishing the whole barrel, just the portion that shows in the ejection port. My smith polished mine for me while he was doing some other custom work and it really looks good.
