Maybe it's not fair to compare this weapon to a Glock but a question came to mind when
I brought my new XD-9 home today and lubed it a bit.
I remember in Glock's owners manual that they repeatedly made the statement to
pull the trigger on an empty chamber after cleaning etc.  I did not see this once
in the Springfield owners manual.  
Is this standard operating procedure on this pistol as well?

Dunno about SOP but it wouldn't hurt if the gun is left empty.

I always keep mine loaded so it really doesnt apply to me...but if you are worried about dry fireing...dont be its perfectly fine, I dry fire mine all the time to practice trigger control
