Ive had a 4" .45 XD for a few years and am very happy with the pistol overall. My only issue is size. Im a small framed guy and the XD is a little heavy and a little big when carrying . My question is this : Is the Micro Compact much smaller or lighter ? I see the sizing comparisons online but its still hard to tell unless you could compare them in person. This is what Im looking at. http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=14
Im thinking of trading in the XD with the XD gear and a Crossbreed Supertuck, all in like new condition, and will Im sure have to add a little boot for the Micro. Any opinions ?

the slide is the same length on the compact as the 4" service model.  but the grip is noticeably shorter for the .45
somewhat lighter..

the grip being shorter will help concealing of course. being a 6 rnd mag should be lighter a bit. i gotta go and check one out.

I run 7rd CMC mags in my Micro.
