what parts if any interchange with standard 1911's? I am interested in picking one up but I dont like owning guns that are hard/impossible to find replacement parts for. thanks |

According to a '90s vintage Springfield flyer, amongst other things, an Omega conversion kit was available for any 1911-A1, so I would guess the lower frame assembly would be standard, but I'm not sure about the ejector. I think Peter Stahl in Germany made them for Springfield and was offered in 10MM, .38 Super and .45 ACP...you could buy the complete 3 caliber "system" in either 5" or 6" barrels, which were hammer forged polygon, with or without porting. Extra barrels were offered too so you could "expand your Omega system" one caliber at a time. The small pictures show linkless barrels and what looks like dual external extractors in the slide. Omega parts would be a challenge, if needed. Hope this is of some help. |

From a thread previous post elsewhere on ARFCOM, someone was looking for an extractor their OMega, good thing they have 2 of them, if one breaks... you more or less still good, but the extractor accroding to the post was impossible to find because Springfield no longer handles this importing this model. The lower half is standard 1911. |
