I have taken 1911'a apart before but is it my imagination or is the spring in the Champion more difficult than standard size 1911's? Just picked it up today,I figured 600 otd for a stainless 1911 to carry was decent price...used. Did a tear down of full size Springer for a friend and have done my Gold Cup and don't recall spring being as tough to compress and get back inside! Got it back and finctions smooth so good to go!

have you fired it? put a round from a mag into the chamber then racked it out? just wanting to check for the correct recoil spring.
bushing or bull barrel?

They haven't made Champions with a bushing in a long time.  They've all been bull barrels for some while, now.  IIRC, the Champions are sprung at 22#.

Have shot it and functions great! Just looking at spring it is as long as the slide itself then when you compress it to half that it is a choreputting pistol back together.Did notice one end is not squared off on spring but tension is not excessive when running the slide or real difficult thumbing the slide release. Can someone measure the relaxed length of their spring to insure my spring measurements?
