I have a Loaded 1911 that is about 13 years old. It is blued and has the standard idiot mark and some light rust/pitting around the grip area. I want to get it refinished but I have no idea what finish to use. Anyone have any pics of the various SA finishes? Probably will have night sights installed at the same time. Maybe some other improvements but it shoots great as it is and I don't believe in "fixing" something that ain't broke. Also, since this is my only 1911 I am not looking for any DIY finishes. I might be interested in finishes from someone other than SA though. Thanks in advance for the help, and Pictures of your refinished guns  |
If you want a durable black finish, IonBond's DiamondBLACK is a good way to go. We coat a ton of stuff in this and SA's custom shop is now using the coating also. We do offer full service 1911 work, but if you want SA to do it and DiamondBLACK it, we'll see it eventually ;) |
