I have a S&W model 15 I purchased at Kieslers (Indiana) last year
It is engraved on the bottom of the trigger guard with
“SJDC” does anyone know where these guns were surplused from?

"DC" normally means Department of Corrections. "SJ" could be almost anything. You could try contacting Kieslers, but its possible even they don't know.

My guess was a Dept. of Corrections unit, and we do have a St. Joseph
county in the state.

Could be St. John's, could be a host of things. Might just google the thing & see what pops up?
