I want to carry in my bedside snub nose revolver a particular ammo. I am unsure if the ammo is safe to shoot in the gun. Anyone with knowledge of this, please respond. The ammo I am wanting to use is described below: Remington .357 Magnum Multiball Load Two 70 GR. OOO Buckshot (140 GR. Payload) This is factory ammo, but am wondering if it is realy only for lever .357s and would be unsafe to shoot in a revolver. Thanks in advance for the information. |
the brand/model of gun is just as important too. |
For that (overpenetration concern) Glaser safety slugs would be in order. I wouldn't go for the buckshot if I were you. |
But round balls have horrible wounding and penetration characteristics in flesh. Were I you, I'd look to something like the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel .357 load. A 135 grain JHP at 1000 fps is nothing to sneeze at, and I'd put MUCH more trust in it than I would some round balls. |
I understand completely what the load consists of, and I am telling you, it's a stupid gimmick created by and for people who don't realize that the search for a defesnive handgun round begins and ends with a quality JHP. Speer, Federal, Remington, Hornady, pick whatever your gun likes. |
Stop posting please. Anything that will satisfactorily penetrate a human being will penetrate interior walls. |
