I just came into inheritance of a S&W Model 13 .357 4" in nickel plate Along with the pistol I was give a bunch of .357, .38, .38+p and some .38+P+ After reading the S&W booklet with the gun it says do not shoot the +P+ in the firearm Anyone know whats up with that? will these loads cause my purdy little pistol to go KABOOM? I've got 141rds of these bad boys and I have no idea what to do! Any suggestions would be welcomed |

Shoot it and don't worry. .38+P+ loadings still do not even come close to .357 Magnum pressures, for which your gun was designed. The best data I can come up with quickly looks something like this: Cor-Bon .38 +P+ 115 grain bullet = 1300 fps Cor-Bon .357 125 grain bullet = 1450 fps Edit: If you're still nervous about shooting it, send it to me. I'll pay for it and shoot it out of mine. My N frames are hungry. |
