Is it possible to make the trigger pull on a Taurus 627 lighter?  I've looked at Brownells, Wolff Springs, and Midway and can't seem to track down any parts for doing this.

For Valentines day, my wife and I went to the local pin shoot and she did pretty good shooting double action with the gun, but I think that a lighter trigger pull would really help her performance.

I agree that a lighter and smoother trigger pull helps greatly with D/A shooting. I am more of a S&W guy but just looked at the schematics of Taurus, there are some similiarities.
Before starting to polish any contact surfaces, you have to see if there is really undue friction. Rub marks on the hammer and trigger will give those away, some need just a little polishing, sometimes shims are necessary. See also if the cylinder spins freely, a binding cylinder causes a lot of drag - even when the ejector rod is dirty.

When you polish any surfaces, do just that, polishing, not removing too much metal from surface hardening of hammer and trigger engagement areas.

You can also change the mainspring and trigger return spring to a lighter weight.

Finally,  use and dry firing is always good practice and will smoothen an action out over time.

Before you start polishing, try this.  Take the gun completely apart; sideplate off, all the internals out.  Thoroughly clean the insides.  When reassembling use a little moly slide or similar lube on all the bearing surfaces.

I've used the technique on Smith's several times with excellent results.  And none of the internals ever comes near a stone.  "Polishing" internals is tougher to do correctly than many realize.  Very easy to screw up.  Very easy.  Been there, done that.

I don't think anything on the gun needs to be posished, I just want the trigger to be lighter.  I don't know how that is usually accomplished but I assume that it's something mechanical like a spring and I can't seem to find any aftermarket parts for my gun that would accomplish that.

Talking about polishing, I been there, done that , too. And so have many others with good success. If you can draw a horse and it looks like a dog, please do not try it.

On the Midway site you will find a Wolff reduced power spring pack for your Taurus revolver in Gun parts, specific model , and so on.
It's about $10 and it's a good starting point if you will get reliable ignition and trigger return.

That is were polishing can help but I think you'll get an improved pull with the spring pack.
