Can anyone tell me anything about the Ruger Police Service revolver?  It has a 4 inch barrel & is a .357mag.  Are they any good?  Anything I need to look out for?  Local shop has one for $269 but I'm sure I can get it for less.  Thanks guys.

Mine was  $250 so you are in the ballpark.
I use it at the range regularly. Obviously the groupings are tighter using single vs double-action. I bought it as a reliable backup to my semi-auto handguns. I also got a couple of speed-loaders w/ it. Have had only good results and I like the versatility of using either the .357 Magnum or .38 Special ammo.
The recoil is strong and wear your hearing protection.
Good luck!

The fixed site version of the original Security Six, the father of the present GP-100.  Like all Rugers overbuilt, tough as nails.  Blueing typically not great but the gun will shoot forever.  Many critisize Ruger's trugger but I've never had any complaints.

Price seems about right.

The first revolver I've owned is a security six
in s.s.Great gun never a problem and I've
had it since 83. The triggers very good, not
like the old mans S.W.686 but thats top shelf
stuff there.
