Which S&W was the Taurus 85 modeled after?  I can't seem to pinpoint it.
I have a 905, which is basically an 85 but chambered in 9mm.  I like the size, the feel, and the potential, but not the "Taurus".  I'd like to find the comparible model in S&W.

Thanks.

The Taurus "small frame" 5 shot revolvers are all Modeled on the
OLDER S&W  J Frames , which include the M36 M37 etc.

world.guns.ru/handguns/hg105-e.htm

They are  NOT Identical to any one S&W however.
(all the new Taurus guns have a separate barrel shroud for instance.)

I own a Taurus 651 and a S&W model 36 and Love them Both

The Newest S&W models 60 , 640 and 642 are probably what you want to look at.

Definitely the S&W Models 36 and 37.

I've owned 2 85's and loved both of them.
